Vintage Scratch Built Working Musical Church Model Donation Box – Oranges & Lemons

This working handmade musical money box plays the nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons perfectly. It measure 17cm wide x 23cm tall x 30cm deep. It features a label on the base for a company based in Newtown, Montgomeryshire, Wales – it bears features similar to St. Davids Church from the same town. The idea is that a coin falls in and activated the plate, setting off the musical mechanism. It shows wear with paint chips, some marks and damage to areas, and some missing parts to the building such as the fencing at the front (please see photos). Sourced in Wales, the story with the piece is that the person who made it was a carpenter. It may have been a church donation box.
