Vintage Royal Navy Duffel Bag

This vintage naval kit bag is in a lovely aged condition. It features a bold red stripe, a name – W. S. Steward, and the title P/MX (the P means the owner was based in Portsmouth, the M for Miscellaneous trade such as carpenter, cook etc, and the X means they enlisted after 1925. It features the original drawstring on the main opening, the internal drawstring needs replacing if so desired.

 

It features a large handle on the base. Measuring 35″ x 15″, it shows marks and wear throughout, including a handwritten Post Office address in West Wales, for the sailor it once belonged to (please see photos).
