This beautiful pair of books come in their own leather case and don’t look as if they were ever used. With a stunning gilt design on the covers, and gilt page edges, they are dated 1843 and 1844. The cover boards are in near perfect condition, while the original page marking ribbons show some age and a mark on the page edges of one of them. The case is structurally sound and shows a couple of marks (please see photos). Printed by G.E. Eyre & A. Spottiswoode, London. “Printers to the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty and sold by S.D. Ewins, 102 Cheapside, London”. There is also a label inside each book for Bookseller & Stationers G.E. Petter, 102 Cheapside, London. Each book measures 3″ x 4.5″.
