This mid century British military lounge chair has been reupholstered in the same colour as it was received, and padded. I have dyed the material with Pollock inspired splashes using black ‘Scratch Doctor Fabric Dye’. The splashes are only on the visible areas when the cushions are insterted. Very comfortable and measuring approximately 79cm wide x 83cm deep x 95cm tall, the back can be unclipped and laid flat for transport and storage purposes – very useful in military life. It is marked with the military Broad Arrow or ‘Crow’s Foot’ and is stamped underneath. It shows some damage to above the front legs where the wood has cracked, but the original bolts and brackets are still in place, and there is a small 0.5″ gap running down the sides of the bottom cushion (please see photos), I can send provide more photos if requested. I am unsure of the exact date, but from research, other examples date to the 1960s. They were used in military married quarters, military hospitals etc.
Many modern chairs imitate this style, but this is the real deal and the shape is original.
Due to its size, the chair will be sent with a courier which can take a couple of 1-2 weeks for delivery. Please get in touch for a more accurate delivery cost. Please get in touch for a quote to Northern Ireland, Highlands, Channel Islands, Isle of Man.
