Deep Waters Inscribed/Signed by J. P. Gimenez 1939 First Edition – Poetry

£125.00

This 1939 first edition is inscribed by the poet and is in lovely condition. Published by Padilla Printing Works, Puerto Rico, it measures 15cm x 22cm (please see photos). The book is inscribed to a Bleddyn James. I believe this to be Captain Bleddyn James of the St. David’s Peninsula, Pembrokeshire (where the book was purchased), who in 1942 was part of the crew of the MV Cape of Good Hope. The ship was sunk by German submarine U-502, and the crew endured an 11 day row and sail in two lifeboats, eventually finding The Virgin Islands, therefore possibly linking the author and the recipient.

Perfect as a gift, for any collection, display, or for use.
