This antique tartan is in its original frame and features the original name plaque – Stuart (Dress). Measuring 141.5cm x 41cm, it was on display in a London kilt shop that closed thirty years ago, and was used as a wall display. It shows wear throughout to the tartan and the frame with moth holes and a slight bend to the wood, and the back has been replaced (please see photos). It features the original holes for hanging on a wall. I have a few of these from the same shop including Fraser, MacGregor, Stuart, Buchanan, and Shepherd.
A stunning display piece.
